I’m crying as I write this…just a little. You see, I watched a little of the trailer for the new movie about Billy Graham…

…when Billy says “T.W.”, he’s speaking to my granddad (He actually called him “T”).

I adored my grandfather.

He used to say, “You know, Angie, you’re my first love…”

I miss him terribly…

I guess some people wouldn’t describe a day filled with grocery shopping, party store hopping and even stops at both Big Lots and Wal-Mart as lovely…

but, still, there was something lovely about it.

Maybe it was that I had some quiet time to myself just to browse…maybe it was that I wasn’t really rushed and could even look for stupid things like the perfect July 4th outfit for Sugar-Boy (How hard could it be to find something cute and patriotic for a three pound purse dog to wear?).

I even found red-white-and-blue Goldfish!! (They make me happy…even if I can’t eat them).

I probably went a little overboard the whole theme thing…but, where’s the fun if you can’t go overboard every now and then?

And when I got home, there were tons of boxes in my front hall….”Barbaric Grace” is finally here.

So, all in all, it was a lovely day. Now I’ve just got to figure out where to put all this stuff….

…and I haven’t even made it to B.J.’s yet!!

(Oh yeah…Happy, happy Wednesday - if you’re not having such a happy day, I recommend eating some patriotic Goldfish!).

i don’t know what to write tonight. i just feel like writing…so maybe i’ll just type until the words come…or they don’t…

i think it’s been easier for me to just focus on my photos…finding the beauty in them - using that as an outlet…instead of blogging. it’s easier with pictures…you don’t have to say anything - the pictures speak for themselves.

anyway, it’s just been an easier form of expression for me lately than writing…

sometimes it’s just hard to find words - sometimes because i have nothing to say…and sometimes because words can’t really do justice to how i feel. and sometimes it’s because what i probably should do is just be quiet…

i’ve never really done quiet very well. maybe that’s why i’m enjoying just letting photos speak for me.

a picture is worth a thousand words anyway, right?

i spent some time reading the psalms today. it seems like david understood…maybe because he, too, was a musician and poet who lived his life in front of an audience. i only made it to psalm 13 - plus, psalm 121…i always read psalm 121….

anyway, david gets me.

and now i’m just listening to the rain and wishing i had a few more photos to become absorbed in editing.

i guess photography “gets me” too.

That storm this evening was crazy…I love the rain, but that was a little much!
