Serving the Children of Uganda
The Children of Uganda
Invisible Children of Uganda
Please join me in prayer for Uganda.
For the children. For peace. Love demands that we make ourselves aware - let us really SEE their suffering, and then not just see and do nothing. We can pray now, and act when the opportunity arises…and it will arise.
Pray.
Educate yourself. (To learn more click HERE).
Prepare to do what you can.
Love demands it.
“He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose.” ~ Jim Elliot, Christian Martyr

The Remains of the Day
Information is useless without transformation. - Byron Bledsoe
As nightfall does not come at once, neither does oppression. In both instances, there’s a twilight where everything remains seemingly unchanged, and it is in such twilight that we must be aware of change in the air, however slight, lest we become unwitting victims of the darkness. - William O. Douglas
If we don’t change direction soon, we’ll end up where we’re going. - Irwin Corey
The greatest achievement was at first and for a time a dream. The oak sleeps in the acorn, the bird waits in the egg, and in the highest vision of the soul a waking angel stirs. Dreams are the seedlings of realities. - James Allen
When we are motivated by goals that have deep meaning, by dreams that need completion, by pure love that needs expressing, then we truly live. - Greg Anderson
It is only the great hearted who can be true friends. The mean and cowardly, Can never know what true friendship means. - Charles Kingsley
Such as are your habitual thoughts, such also will be the character of your mind; for the soul is dyed by the thoughts. -Marcus Aurelius
If any one faculty of our nature may be called more wonderful than the rest, I do think it is memory. There seems something more speakingly incomprehensible in the powers, the failures, the inequalities of memory, than in any other of our intelligences. The memory is sometimes so retentive, so serviceable, so obedient; at others, so bewildered and so weak; and at others again, so tyrannic, so beyond control! We are, to be sure, a miracle every way; but our powers of recollecting and of forgetting do seem peculiarly past finding out. -Jane Austin, Mansfield Park.
“I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.”-Romans 8:18These are some quotes that spoke to me. I hope this day left you challenged, inspired, and…changed. My prayer is that Heaven rejoices over all that took place today. …and may our souls be dyed by our thoughts! Peace.
F.Y.I.
i now have a fever.
but what really made me ill is the commercial for a new show that will be coming out soon.
it’s about “thirty something” women who want to look like they did when they were cheerleaders in high school!
they try to squeeze into their old uniforms…
it gave me chills!
my uniform was a size 2.
i am a grown woman now.
i do not want to be a size 2.
i think my fever is getting worse.
who thinks of these shows?
i’m gonna venture a guess that the creator has lots of testosterone in his system…
anyway, that just struck me as weird, so i guess i thought i should get that off my chest.
bottom line: my memoirs will not be titled “I want to look like a high school cheerleader“!
i feel better now - not really, but at least i got that out.
peace.
ABOUT ME
This is my story.
The personal journey of…me. I am a blonde, and the antithesis of a blonde. I am a poet who sees life through the rose-colored glasses of what could be, rather than what is. I am…me, and this is my life.
I am a wife, mother, daughter, sister, writer, musician and friend. I share my life with my high school sweetheart and best friend, Byron, and my four amazing children: Kayleigh, Ashley, Nate and Ethan.
I love my family, my friends, my church, and my dogs.
My passion is sharing the love of God with everyone around me - I am a Christ-follower and pastor’s wife who desires to break the mold. Love is my mission, and words are the best way for me to share it. I just want the world to know real PEACE.
Writing, for me is an act of freedom and passion. Words are like jewels to me, and beautiful thoughts are like the whispers of God…
Peace.
